The Forest in Focus - new industry group based in Sundsvall under the leadership of a recently recruited Lawyer from SCA

To meet the increasing demand for legal advice related to the forest industry, MAQS Advokatbyrå establishes the national industry group Forestry and reinforces the team with the addition of Jannie Strømberg, former legal counsel at SCA, as head of the group.

– MAQS Advokatbyrå already has expertise with extensive experience from the forest industry. Jan Svedjebrant, former General Counsel at SCA, joined MAQS in December 2020 to offer specialised legal advice to customers within the forest industry. We are now taking the next step and expanding with additional expertise at the same time as we establish a dedicated group with focus on forestry, says Katrin Troedsson, CEO at MAQS Advokatbyrå.

Jannie Strømberg will lead MAQS Advokatbyrå’s industry group Forestry. She started on 11 October 2021 with placement in Sundsvall and with a national assignment. Jannie Strømberg comes most recently from SCA where she worked as legal counsel for 12 years. She also has previous experience as a Danish attorney within environmental law.

– My colleagues and I at MAQS have good insight and a genuine interest in forestry and issues related to the forest industry. The legal issues from the industry linked to digitalisation, transport and logistics as well as sustainability have increased exponentially and I look forward to heading MAQS’ new industry investment, says Jannie Strømberg, Legal Director at MAQS Advokatbyrå.

In recent years, MAQS Advokatbyrå has built up its operations based on selected industry and specialist areas to combine high-quality legal advice with extensive industry knowledge.

– In order to meet the demand for legal assistance and industry expertise in a credible way, we have created competence hubs within selected industry and specialist areas. The demand for advice related to the forest industry has now led us to set up a special industry group for forestry based from our Sundsvall office, says Katrin Troedsson.
