MAQS’ Renewables team assisted one of the co-investors in the acquisition of a share in one of Europe’s largest wind farms

MAQS’ Renewables team has represented a co-investor to Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners AG in the acquisition of a majority stake (up to 85%) of the shares in a wind power project owned by Enercon. The wind farm is expected to be in operation by the end of 2021 with a combined annual electricity production of 657 GWh. The project, which is located in the northern section of the Markbygden 2 wind farm in Norrbotten near Piteå, is a part of the Markbygden cluster, which will be one of the three largest land-based wind farms in Europe (measured by installed capacity).

The project is a significant contribution to Sweden’s goal of achieving both 100% renewable energy production by 2040 and zero net emission by 2045. Bloomberg writes more about this in the article found via this link.
