MAQS welcomes new partner and Head of Regulatory

Karin Roberts

Competition law expert Karin Roberts joins MAQS Advokatbyrå as a partner and Head of Regulatory on February 1, 2026.

Karin Roberts specialises in competition law and has extensive experience in anti-competitive practices, abuse of dominance, merger control, and competition neutrality. She advises clients on complex matters such as infringement investigations, dawn raids, merger filings, and compliance.

Karin's expertise also extends to regulatory matters and security law, including FDI screenings, export controls, and sanctions. She assists clients with tailored compliance advise and guidance during government investigations, particularly within the life sciences, food industry, waste management, retail, and other regulated sectors.

"I look forward to joining MAQS and being part of their exciting growth journey. The firm has a strong industry focus and a great understanding of clients' challenges. With my background in multiple regulated industries, I am confident I can contribute to further strengthening the firm's offering. Competition law and regulatory issues are becoming increasingly important, and investigations more complex. We see tightened regulatory requirements in many areas combined with higher sanctions for violations, while the geopolitical situation means a more complex everyday life for many companies," says Karin Roberts.

"We are very pleased to welcome Karin to MAQS. With her solid expertise in the regulatory and competition law area and extensive international experience, we strengthen our offerings in key strategic areas," says Katrin Troedsson, CEO of MAQS.

Karin joins from a corporate law firm and has previously been Deputy Head of Unit, at the Swedish Competition Authority.

MAQS is a leading Swedish corporate law firm with 180 employees and offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Sundsvall.
