Premiere for MAQS’ new premises in Stockholm – Four Partners join the firm

MAQS is launching its operations in Stockholm in brand new premises. Four new partners, who have been recruited externally, will join the firm at the turn of the year.

When the former partners in Stockholm decided to terminate their collaboration, it remained evident to MAQS that from a market demand perspective they would continue to maintain a strong foundation in Stockholm. The business is integrated into the development effort that is ongoing within the firm with the aim of creating a more explicit leadership-driven organization with shared values based, among other things, on sustainability and digitalisation. The work has now resulted in a new office located at Hamngatan 13 and four new partners who have not previously worked at the firm.

– One alternative would have been to directly merge with a smaller Stockholm firm that would take on our name, but we wanted to individually select candidates who have the same values as us. It is important to us that the MAQS-spirit continues to guide our business. We have now recruited four extremely competent people with varying profiles, but who complement each other and share our business idea, says Katrin Troedsson, managing Partner at MAQS.

Additional recruitments are planned but these are the new partners:

Wendela Hårdmark has extensive experience within litigation, especially with respect to patent and other intellectual property issues, and provides ongoing advice within these areas of law. Wendela comes most recently from Vinge.

Olof Wetterling has substantial experience from, among other things, work with Nordic and International banks and private equity funds including leverage financing, corporate lending and real estate financing. He most recently comes from Linklaters Advokatbyrå.

Anna Eidvall is specialised within commercial law with focus on data protection. Her comprehensive experience includes, among others, advising clients in data protection related matters. She most recently comes from Kompass Advokat and previously worked at Mannheimer Swartling.

Martin Folke has more than ten years of experience in both domestic and cross-border business acquisitions, capital injections and company law issues that arise in transactions. He has also assisted venture capital companies and industrial players, as well as a number of start-up and scale-up companies within a variety of industries. Martin most recently comes from Baker & McKenzie and prior to that also worked Vinge in Stockholm.

– MAQS has been ranked as Sweden’s most modern law firms for several years and our ambition is to continue this development. The Stockholm branch is part of our vision to create an organization with clear common values that is permeated by an inclusive approach, both externally and internally, and which has focus on, among other things, sustainability, digitilisation and increased customer benefit, says Katrin Troedsson.
