Initiate your career at MAQS
At MAQS we believe that it is beneficial for law students to gain insight in the daily life of a business lawyer, and to establish long-term relationships while doing so. That is why we every year provide law students with the opportunity to work as student co-workers, thesis trainees, or summer trainees, getting to know MAQS and to familiarize with our way of working along the way.
Traineeship at MAQS
As a trainee at MAQS you will be have the opportunity to try at the daily life of a lawyer and to acquire practical knowledge in a variety of matters at the firm, e.g., legal research, participating in client meetings, drafting memorandums, agreements, and external correspondence.
The duration of the traineeship is ten weeks and aims to provide an understanding of legal analysis and how to manage legal matters. During your time here you will furthermore have the opportunity to work with several of the firm’s industry- and specialist groups, gain insight in some of the most important fields of law for a business lawyer, and work in close proximity with a designated supervisor.
Our Malmö office offer a two-week traineeship at the end of spring term. Applications are to be sent to Juridiska Föreningen in Lund.
Student employees
We provide the opportunity for an exciting and rewarding part-time job to law students enlisted in Stockholm, Göteborg, or Lund. As a student co-worker you will gain valuable experience and insight into the everyday life at a business law firm, establishing valuable connections while doing so.
Considering the aim of our traineeship, we will prioritize applicants who have finished their fifth term. The assignments may vary from basic legal tasks, to business administration, participate in various events or staff our front desk. The work hours is flexible, and vary from 1-2 afternoons a week, with a strong focus on maintaining a good balance with your ongoing studies.
Summer traineeship
Each summer MAQS offer law students the opportunity to join our summer traineeship program. For six weeks, you will gain insight into our culture, make valuable connections, both at the firm and with fellow students, as well as receive a practical introduction to the life of a business lawyer, working in close proximity with a designated supervisor. You will be included into one of our industry- and speciality groups and alternate between participating in the daily business and various educational and social activities.
To do a summer traineeships at MAQS is an excellent opportunity should you aspire to make a career in business law. Several of our most distinguished lawyers and partners started their careers as summer trainees.
Considering the aim of our traineeship, we will prioritize applicants who have finished their seventh term and have an interest in working at a business law firm after completed studies. Apply by sending us a personal letter, CV, and a grade excerpt from law school.

Keen on helping out with homework?
Are you currently enlisted as a law student and want to help out? MAQS supports the organisation NU: Nolla Utanförskapet, which aims to help pupils from vulnerable areas who are currently in the last year of compulsory school or in high school with their homework. A chance for you to do some good, while meeting some of our co-workers.

On average, we recruit 25 associates on a yearly basis.
We are constantly looking for new talent. We do not however hire at any given time of year, but rather when a need emerges. With that said, we tend to initiate more recruitment processes between May and June to fill openings for early autumn.
You will be able to acquire practical knowledge in a variety of matters at the firm, e.g., legal research, participating in client meetings, drafting memorandums, agreements, and external correspondence.
We are obviously looking for talented people with good grades and knowledge of languages. However we believe that other personal attributes such as creativity, leaderships, ability to work in teams, and accepting our corporate brand and values is equally important. We are looking for long-term relationships, not only with our customers but with our co-workers as well.
We hire lawyers for entry level openings irrespective of district court experience. It is however considered as a merit.
All our offices accept thesis trainees for a duration of ten weeks. Our Malmö-office also accept APU-interns. Apply by responding to one of our communicated openings or by sending us a spontaneous application.
You can apply for a summer traineeship when you are closing in, or are close to, your final year. For our Stockholm and Gothenburg offices we will communicate when we have openings, but last day to apply is normally by the end of February. We are more than happy to hire lawyers with previous practical experience. We consider it to be a great merit if you have previous experience, working as a consultant or general counsel. We also value if you have dared to go off the beaten path, having chosen more unconventional ways of life and can add new experiences and approaches to our business.
