MAQS assisted Mölndal Energi in connection with battery installation for a safer electricity grid

Mölndal Energi and Stella Futura have together installed a 100 kW battery, so-called Battery Energy Storage system/BESS, at Riskulla. The investment contributes to a more secure electricity grid in Mölndal and nationally and leads to customers with batteries being able to participate in the support service market via Mölndal Energi.

Using a new technical solution from CheckWatt, the battery can participate both in the local flex market Effekthandel Väst and in Svenska Kraftnät's support service market FCR-D (up and down). Effekthandel Väst is one of Sweden's first local marketplaces for flexibility and is run by Mölndal Energi Nät together with Göteborg Energi Nät. The purpose is to relieve the electricity networks in Mölndal and Gothenburg when the load is at its highest.
